Description

Richmond House is a building located on London Road, likely dating from the early 19th century. It stands three storeys tall and features two windows on both the south and west sides. The exterior is stuccoed, topped with a hipped slate roof that has projecting eaves and a cornice. Each front has three pilasters and stringcourses between the storeys. All the windows are sash with intact glazing bars.

The ground floor on the south side has a modern front. On the west side facing London Road, there is a projecting porch supported by two Doric columns and two pilasters, featuring a moulded hood cornice and a round-headed archway. Inside the porch is a round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight and double doors that have two moulded panels each, with the upper two panels removed for glazing.

To the north, there is a contemporary two-storey extension with three windows, also stuccoed and featuring a hipped slate roof. This extension has a parapet and moulded cornice, with plain pilasters between the windows that extend into the parapet, along with a stringcourse. Most of the windows in the extension are sash with intact glazing bars. Richmond House forms a group with No 14 Carfax.
