Description

Porch House is an early 17th century farmhouse located on the south side of Hurst Road. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The building is constructed of stone on the east side and brick on the west side, topped with a half-hipped tiled roof that has a louvred gablet on the west. The windows are casements with stone mullions and retain their original diamond panes. There is a contemporary brick porch, which has a later addition on its north-west side, and the original door is located within the porch. Porch House, along with Lamsbottom Farmhouse and Nos 45 to 55 (odd) North Street, forms a group of buildings of architectural significance.
