Description
Horsham Park is a large early 18th century house that serves as the offices of the Horsham Urban District Council. It is two storeys high with an attic, constructed of red brick with stone dressings on a stone base, and features a Horsham slab roof. The building has four gabled dormers with pediments and a large pediment with a circular window at the center of the front, which has been altered by the addition of two chimneys at its apex. There is a stone cornice and parapet, along with stone pilasters featuring banded rustication at the ends of the front that support the central pediment. The façade includes stone string courses and key stones above the windows. There are nine narrow windows arranged in groups of three, each with segmental heads, sashes, and intact glazing bars. The entrance features an eight-panel moulded door within a frame topped by a curved pediment, and there is a projecting stone plinth. The west front is slightly later than the east front and has rectangular windows in reveals with architraves on the ground floor, also with sashes and intact glazing bars. Inside, there is a good staircase and over-doors. The building has modern additions to the north and south. Horsham Park, along with its stables, granary, outbuildings, and estate walls, forms a group of significant structures.
