Description
This is a row of ten terraced houses, numbered 23 to 32, built in the early 19th century. The ridge line is lower than that of the adjacent house at number 22. Each house has two storeys and a single window. The facades are of red brick, though number 25 has been painted. The windows are sash windows set within flat arches, with painted brick voussoirs above. The doorways are round-headed. Number 24 has a modern hood with wrought ironwork. The doors are set in reveals, with the exception of number 23, which features a four-panelled door and a semi-circular fanlight with tracery above it. Numbers 27, 30, 31, and 32 have five-panelled doors, where the top panels have been cut away and glazed, except for number 32, which retains a solid top panel. The remaining houses have modern doors. There are blocked semi-circular fanlights at numbers 25 and 31, and a glazed semi-circular fanlight at number 32. These houses are part of a larger group with numbers 1 to 18 and 22 to 40 on Washington Street.
