Description

The Chantry is a building from the 13th century that has undergone alterations and additions in the 15th to 18th centuries. It features a modern wing to the east. The walls are constructed of flint with stone quoins. The north front, which faces Canon Lane, includes a 15th or 16th century archway and a large window with trefoiled ogee-headed lights and a semi-quatrefoil in a square head, believed to have been brought from Halnaker House. Part of this window has been filled in with masonry. There is another window of the same period to the east, which consists of a cinquefoil in a square head.
