Description

Atherington House is a large L-shaped house, now subdivided, located on Ford Lane. The exterior dates from the 18th century, while the interior may contain some work from the 17th century. The house has two storeys and an attic, with four windows facing west and four facing north. It features modern dormers and is constructed of red brick with grey headers, along with some panels of squared knapped flints. There is a brick stringcourse and an eaves cornice supported by heavy brackets. The roof is hipped and tiled, and the glazing bars are intact. A porch is situated in the angle of the L.
