Description

The Manorial Dovecote at Church Farm is a 17th-century circular structure made of flint, featuring red brick quoin-shaped patterns at regular intervals and a cornice composed of three courses of brick. It has a conical tiled roof with two hipped dormers, although the cupola for bird entry is missing. The small size of the dovecote suggests it was used solely for the Lord of the Manor. Historical records from the West Sussex Record Office indicate that this dovecote is mentioned in a lease dated 17 October 1667 for a 'capital messuage with dove house, in Yapton'.
