Description

The Parish Church of St Mary is an important medieval church located on Church Road in Yapton. The church features a chancel and a nave with aisles, along with a tower situated to the southwest of the nave. The nave and tower date back to the 12th century and are characterized by lean-to roofs that have later dormer windows added. The tower is supported by red brick buttresses and has a hipped roof covered in shingles. The chancel, which is from the 13th century, adds to the church's historical significance. This church remains an attractive and unrestored example of medieval architecture.
