Description

Tourney Hall is a large, L-shaped house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of grey headers with red brick quoins and window dressings. The house has two storeys and an attic, topped with a hipped tiled roof that includes one dormer with a 19th-century gable addition. A brick cornice runs along the top of the walls, finished with a cemented parapet.

The front facade is flanked by red brick pilasters that rise the full height of the building. A doorcase, also constructed of brick pilasters and an entablature, is centrally positioned and contains a six-panel door; the top two panels are cut away and glazed. Above the doorcase’s entablature are two smaller pilasters flanking the central first-floor window. All windows are segmental-headed, except for the central first-floor window, which is square-headed, and all retain their original glazing bars. The north wing is of a lower elevation.
