Description

The Old Granary, likely built around 1830, is a structure shown on the 1837 Tithe map but not an earlier map of 1824. It features a hipped tiled roof and a late 19th-century dormer window. The granary is constructed with a combination of red brick and weatherboarding, and supported by both staddle stones and red brick arches. A wooden staircase leads to a timber planked door within a weatherboarded wall, situated above brick arches on the south side. The east side is also a mix of brick and weatherboarding, with a gabled dormer window having tile-hung cheeks, and stands upon staddle stones. The interior retains some wooden grain divisions, and the roof was re-tiled in the late 19th or early 20th century.
