Description
Avisford Park Hotel is a large early 19th-century house, likely built by Admiral Sir George Montagu on the site of an earlier structure. It served as a school from 1928 to 1974 and was enlarged into a hotel in 1975. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring thirteen windows and modern dormers. The exterior is stuccoed with a rusticated ground floor, a stringcourse, cornice, and parapet, topped with a slate roof. The glazing bars are intact, and there is a modern porch. The south half of the west front is curved. Inside, there is a good staircase. To the east, there is a large modern addition that matches the hotel.
