Description

Hop Garden Cottage is an 18th-century cottage, extended to the west in the early 20th century. It is constructed of flint with red brick dressings. The roof is thatched with brick stacks at the ends, and includes eyebrow dormers and two 19th-century casement windows within original cambered architraves. A central 19th-century porch has a hipped tiled roof and a catslide roof extends to the rear. A single-story gabled addition to the west is also in flint with red brick dressings and a thatched roof, featuring a semi-circular window above and an early 20th-century five-bay oriel window below. The interior includes an open fireplace, exposed beams, and plank doors. A 20th-century addition to the east with a tiled roof is not considered of special interest.
