Description

Walnut Cottage and Old Malt Cottage are a barn, dating from the 17th century, that has been converted into two cottages in the 20th century. The building is constructed of flint with red dressings, including a diagonal buttress at the south-west corner and a side-buttress on the south side. It has a hipped thatched roof with ridge stacks on either side. The eaves are lower to the left, with a pentice extension to the front, which is roofed with Horsham slabs. The cottage has one and a half storeys; one window to the right on both floors, and three windows to the left on the ground floor only. The windows are casements, with diamond lattice glazing on the left side. There are entrances at the right-hand end of the front extension, situated either side of the central window; both entrances have half-glazed panels.
