Description

The entrance gate piers of the Shah Jahan Mosque are square in shape and were likely designed in 1889 for Dr. Gottlieb Wilhelm Leitner, although the architect is not believed to be Chambers, who designed the mosque itself. The exterior features a pair of square piers made of rendered brick, which have projecting flat cornices. These piers are topped with half-spherical finials that have crescent profiles.
