Description
Nos 10 and 12 on Petworth Road are an 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall and features five windows in total. The windows in the two left bays of No 10 are blocked, and this property has a main four-window front on its west return. The building is constructed of well-proportioned red brick. It has replaced sash windows set in moulded architraves, with triple keystones beneath gauged flat brick arches. There is a string course and a coved, moulded eaves cornice beneath a hipped tiled roof.
No 12 is a double span building, with the rear span made of coursed small malmstone, which may be older. This part has casement windows, except for a tall 18th-century staircase sash window that features glazing bars and a serpentine head. The road front of No 12 is similar to No 10 but retains sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. There is a 19th-century extension to the east, and several modern doors and bow shop windows have been inserted on the ground floor.
