Description

Two stone piers stand at the front of Ladywell Convent, built in 1910 by Sir Guy Dawber for Major-General D A Scott. They are made of Bargate rubble-stone with brick bands and feature ashlar detailing. The square-section piers are approximately 2 metres high and are topped with ashlar cornices. The bases are swept and scrolled, with corniced designs leading up to ball-on-cushion finials.
