Description

Nursecombe Farm House is an early 16th-century house, with later 16th-century and 19th-century extensions. It is timber-framed, with decorative curved braces and framing to the rear gables, and it is infilled with colourwashed brick and tile hanging to the gable ends. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house has two storeys and a cellar to the left. It features an end stack to the right of the centre and a ridge stack to the right of the centre. The front of the house is set at a right angle to the lane. The central gable is double-jettied, with pierced bargeboards, and there is a single jettied gable to the left, both supported by moulded bressumers. The ground floor has close studding. There are diamond pane, leaded casement windows in the gables, with a three-light diamond pane window to the first floor of each gable and a two-light window between. A fine projecting oriel window, square in shape with diamond pane leaded glazing, is located on the ground floor to the left. A square pane, leaded casement window is on the ground floor to the right, with a small window between. A 17th-century gabled porch, jettied on the first floor, is on the right, featuring a four-centre arch and a first-floor casement window. A pentice extension to the right includes further windows.
