Description
Farnham Lodge is a lodge that was probably built around 1765 by Sir William Chambers, who also designed Peper Harow House. The building was extended to the right in the 19th century and to the left in the early 20th century. The original section is made of painted brick and features a hipped roof that is now covered in asbestos sheeting, along with two painted brick chimneys. It has a parapet and a modillion cornice. The lodge is two storeys high and has one bay in the original part. A giant arch spans both floors and is divided by a stringcourse. There is a Diocletian window on the first floor and a six-flush panelled door on the ground floor, which is flanked by sidelights. The windows have leaded lights on pintle hinges and there is a plinth at the base. The rear elevation includes a first-floor cambered casement window with a leaded light. The 19th-century lean-to extension on the right is also made of painted brick and has a slate roof. To the left, there is a one-storey early 20th-century extension, also in painted brick, featuring a similar parapet to the original building, a hipped roof, and a triple casement window.
