Description
Dippenhall Grange is a remodelled farmhouse originally known as Deans Farm, which was purchased in 1920. The remodelling was carried out by Harold Falkner, after which the farmhouse was renamed. The garden front, facing south, is two storeys high with five bays and is designed in the style of the early to mid-18th century. It features brick cladding, a brick stringcourse, and a capped parapet. The south-facing facade includes segmental-headed sash windows with three panes, framed with architraves and brick voussoirs. There is a glazed door topped with a shell hood supported by carved trusses. Falkner refaced the original three-bay core and added two additional bays at the west end.
The entrance front, facing east, is constructed of clunch with brick dressings and has sash windows arranged irregularly. It includes a six-panelled door flanked by double side-lights and a flat moulded hood on trusses. This front remains relatively unaltered by Falkner.
To the west of the house, there is a granary that runs parallel to it and connects to the garden front at its southeast end. The granary likely dates from the 18th century or earlier and was originally part of Deans Farm. It has a very low, steeply pitched roof on the east side, two short gabled wings on the west side, and a half-hipped gable facing towards Deans at the northwest end. Together, the house and granary form a U-shaped block.
