Description

The Church of All Saints is a church built in 1867 by Ewan Christian, designed in the style of the 13th century. It is constructed from Bargate stone rubble with stone quoins and dressings, topped with plain tiled roofs that feature ridge cresting. The layout includes a nave and south aisle, with a chancel to the east, a vestry to the southeast, and a porch to the north. At the west end, there is a stone bell-cote. The church has a simple two-light and roundel window at the west end of the north wall, with three-light and single lancet windows throughout, all under continuous hood mouldings. The east window features plate tracery. The large gabled porch on the north side is built of stone on a battering plinth, with a timber upper section pierced by quatrefoils, and has cusped bargeboards and billeted tie-beams. The north door is arched with simple moulding.

Inside, the church features a chamfered square pier arcade with chamfered arches that die into imposts, and a chamfered chancel arch supported by respond pillar corbels. The chancel roof is panelled. There are 19th-century fittings, including a large round stone pulpit with octafoil decoration and a massive round stone font on an octagonal stem and step plinth. The east window has late Victorian stained glass by Puvell, while the aisle and nave windows are by Kempe.
