Description

Kemnal Cottage and Kemnal Lodge are circa 1883, designed by R. Norman Shaw. They are fraternal twin lodges built to flank the original entrance to Kemnal. The buildings are L-shaped, with one and a half storeys and a large scale. Each building has one bay facing the road. Small projecting porches are situated on the south returns, with a pentice on the north return of Kemnal Lodge. The roofs are very steep and tiled, with ridge stacks. The first floors are tile hung, while the ground floors are brick. They have leaded casement windows, and exhibit good, careful detailing.
