Description

Yard Farm House is a mid-16th century house with 19th-century extensions to the left. It is timber framed with colourwashed brick infilling below and tile hanging above. Brick and tile hung extensions are also present, and the roofs are plain-tiled. Originally, the house had a T-shaped plan with a parallel range to the rear, but it now features a double gable bay facing the street.

The house is two storeys high, with a stack on the left hand return front and another on the ridge of the right hand gable. The left hand gable has one first-floor window and two ground-floor windows. The right hand gable is jettied on the first floor with two windows above and one below.

The left hand return front has brick dentils above the ground floor. There is one first-floor window and double casement doors below. The right hand return front is constructed of Bargate stone rubble with ironstone galleting.

At the rear, each gable has two first-floor windows and two ground-floor windows. A door is located centrally, and tension bracing is visible on the first floor.
