Description

Nos. 40-44 on High Street are cottages that were originally a house, dating back to the 17th century but refaced in the 19th century. The structure is timber framed with a rendered stone front set on a brick plinth, featuring brick dressings. It has a plain tiled roof with a square ridge stack located to the left. The building is two storeys high and has five casement windows across the first floor. The ground floor has three similar windows with cambered heads, and there is a square bay flat-roofed plate glass window to the right of center. To the left, there is a glazed door under a cambered head for No. 44, a similar door to the left of center for No. 42, and a part-glazed door to the right of center under a cambered head for No. 40.
