Description
This is a mid-18th century terrace of three buildings located on Thames Street, Sunbury-on-Thames. The buildings are constructed of brown brick with hipped, plain tiled roofs, and feature brick dentilled eaves. There are square, rendered stacks in the centre and to the right, with additional stacks at the rear.
Nos. 66 and 68 form a pair. The building is four bays wide, with 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows beneath gauged brick heads on the second floor, with the centre two windows blocked. The first floor has four 12-pane glazing-bar sashes, and there are square, flat-roofed extensions to the outer ends of the ground floor. The left bay has mullioned and transomed windows with panelled mullions, while the right bay has plain fixed windows. There are two 6-panel doors set between a flight of three steps.
No. 70, to the right, is three bays wide, with outer 16-pane sashes to the second floor and a centre window that is blocked, all under gauged brick heads. The first floor has three replacement glazing-bar sashes. A bay oriel window is located on the ground floor to the left, with side-opening casements. A wider oriel window is situated to the right, sheltered by a large canopy with arcading over a flat roof. A basement window is present to the right. The central ground floor door is of six panels, with a panelled strip surround and a transome light above. A flat hood is supported by brackets.
