Description
The Oast House is a mid-19th century building that has been converted from a medium-sized malting. It is constructed of buff brick with red brick cambered window heads. The building stands three storeys high, featuring a Roman tile roof on the main section, while the oast section is taller and topped with a pyramidal roof adorned with fishscale bands. The main section has five windows along with several more recent openings. The oast section includes a number of tie-plates at the second floor level. At the rear, there is a double pile range, and a main segment-headed door is located to the left of the oast. The building is linked to the Branch Library by a rear range.
