Description
The Temple of Friendship, located in the grounds of St Ann's Hill House in Chertsey, is a late 18th century structure built by Charles James Fox. This small rectangular building is faced with Roman cement and features a cornice and parapet. The entrance is flanked by pairs of stone Ionic columns, which have lost their cement coating. Inside, there is an apsidal end that contains three semi-circular niches, each holding a bust of Fox on tall pedestals. Additionally, there are two inscriptions, one in English and the other in Italian, both praising friendship.
