Description
Walnut Tree Cottage is a cottage from the late 18th century, constructed of white painted brick. The building features an old roof that is hipped at the front and gabled on the west, now covered with slate, and has tile hips and ridges. There are chimney stacks on both the north and south sides. The cottage is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan, with a single storey projection at the front that has a lean-to slate roof.
The front includes a small pane bow window, with a two-light, six-pane casement window above it. On the south wall, there are two two-light, six-pane casement windows and a door that is sheltered by a trellis porch. The wing facing the road has similar windows on the ground floor, with a loft door above that has been fitted with small pane glazed doors. There is also a later lean-to at the base of the west wing and a 20th-century single storey extension on the north side.
