Description
The eastern block of Coxes Lock Mills is a 19th-century building notable for its monumental size and design. It stands seven storeys tall with a gabled attic, constructed from brick. The south front features three cambered-headed iron-framed windows and a Venetian arched machicolated cornice at eaves level that runs all around the building. There is one window in the attic and two windows on the east return side, while five bays remain unwindowed. The structure is supported by lofty four-storey buttresses with weathered offsets, and there is a brick bressumer above. The machicolated cornice and parapet add to its distinctive architectural character.
