Description

Nos 53A and 54 on High Street is a house with a later shop on the ground floor, dating from the mid-18th century. The building is lime washed and features a tiled roof that is hipped at both ends, with chimneys located at the rear. It has two storeys and the front elevation includes five sash windows; some of the glazing bars are still intact on No 53A, while No 54 has verticals only. No 53A also boasts a doorcase with a pediment supported by console brackets, along with moulded architraves and a six-panelled door set on a plinth. The shop fronts are a later addition.
