Description

Mount Cottage is an early to mid-19th century, two-story, five-bay villa. The exterior is red brick with the first floor clad in tiles. It has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with shallow eaves soffits, and lion masks along the gutter. The windows are casement windows with two bars, and the first-floor windows have external louvred shutters. A ground-floor loggia is supported by plain wood posts with straight brackets, and features visible rafter ends of a pent roof banded in plain and fishscale tiles. The second bay from the right projects forward and contains a six-panel door with a patterned fanlight set within a round-arched recess. A left garage extension has been added.
