Description
The Skimmington Castle Public House is a building that likely dates back to the 17th century. It has a timber frame that is now covered in stucco with incised lines. The structure is two storeys high and features two windows. It has a high-pitched tiled roof and a chimney breast with offsets on the left end. The first floor has small modern casements, while the ground floor is covered by a projecting public house front that is glazed and dates from the mid to late 19th century. Inside, there are many exposed beams with arch braces, as well as an inglenook that includes a bread oven and a salt cupboard. At the back, there is a high plinth made of chalk rubble and brick, where the ground slopes away, along with two modern pent extensions.
