Description
The round tower in the grounds of the Parish Hall opposite the churchyard steps dates from the early 19th century and its original function is uncertain, though it may have served as a watch house. It measures about 8 feet across and stands 14 feet high, constructed of red brick in an indeterminate bond and featuring a battlemented top. The tower was once covered in stucco but is now mostly bare. It has small round windows on each side with cruciform openings below, as well as the remains of a Tudor arch in the foundation. The roof is pointed vaulted, and there is a pointed arched doorway on the south side, along with a modern Tudor arched entrance on the east side.
