Description
The ruins located in the south-west corner of the grounds of No 2 Chart Lane are of uncertain origin, possibly dating from the medieval period or constructed as a Georgian Gothick folly. The structure features a small chamber with a rounded north-east corner and a square south-west corner. The south and west walls are made of modern brick, which may have been added to support the ruin or to convert it into a room. The older part of the structure consists of coursed rubble and includes pointed arches in the style of the 13th century on the east and north sides.
