Description
Tranquil House is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed roughcast brick and features a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and is adorned with a wooden modillion eaves cornice. There is an offset colourwashed brick stack on the right and an end ridge stack on the left.
On the first floor, there are two 16-pane glazing-bar sash windows set in architrave surrounds, each topped with thin hoods. The ground floor also has two similar windows with shutters. The central entrance door consists of six fielded panels and is topped by a fanlight, all under an open, dentilled pediment supported by Doric half-columns and dosserets. At the rear, there is a wing that extends at right angles.
