Description

- Dated 1636. The original part of the house of 5 bays in front and 5 behind; H shaped in front and E shaped behind. 2 storeys and attics in gables. 6 windows. Red brick. The wings have a stringcourse above the ground floor, a cornice above the 1st floor with console brackets at the angles, and shaped gables with triangular apices. The south wing has been probably built out to join the wings. Above are 2 blind shaped gables containing oval panels; between windows on 1st floor a moulded oval panel inset within a rectangular moulded panel with date 1636 over. All the windows are sash windows with dripstones over and glazing bars missing, except the attic window in the north gable which is a casement window with small square leaded panes and has a pediment over it. The south wing has a modern porch. At the northern end beyond the wings a portion of 2 window bays has been added in recent modern times (formerly at southern end as well, but recently pulled down). Behind, brickwork recently re-pointed. Centre bay has small broken pediment on a shaped gable above an oval brick panel; shaped gables with triangular apices
over end projecting bays.
