Description
The granary, now used as a store, dates from around 1800 and has been altered. It features a weatherboarded timber frame supported by stone staddles and has a red tile roof. The building has a rectangular single-cell plan and is positioned at right angles to the barn located behind it. It is a single-storey structure raised on staddles. The entrance, located on the north-east side, has a board door that is slightly offset to the right and is accessed by wooden steps. There are two small rectangular ventilating windows under the eaves, each equipped with internal shutters, and the roof is hipped. The right-hand end, which faces the farmhouse, includes an 8-pane fixed window that may have replaced a former doorway. The rear of the granary has ventilating windows similar to those at the front. Inside, the granary has a machine-sawn timber frame and hand-made hinges for the window shutters. This granary is part of a close functional group with the barn behind it.
