Description
Flexford House is a house dating from around 1840, situated on Hogs Back near Wanborough. The exterior is whitewashed roughcast render, with low-pitched slate roofs. It stands on a plinth with a plat band above the ground floor, and has deep eaves. Rendered stacks have dentil detailing at the tops, one on the left and one on the right. The symmetrical three-bay front has projecting, gabled outer bays, with panelled piers at the ends, topped by depressed arches and dentilled imposts. The first floor has three 12-pane sash windows, each with original Venetian shutters. Hipped roof angle bay windows are present at ground floor level on either end. A central gabled porch has double doors leading inside, with a half-glazed outer door and a fanlight above.
The left return front features a ground floor angle bay window on the right, and a two-storey square projection to the left. The right return front has an angle bay to the left, with four glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor.
Inside, one fireplace surround remains in a ground floor room on the front right.
