Description

The wall at Shalford Cemetery, built in 1886 by E L Lunn, is a Grade II listed structure. It is attached to the lychgate and forms a rectangular shape, with a wider section to the southwest and a spur to the east. The wall is constructed from Bargate stone rubble and stands about six feet high. It features two courses of black brick near the top, consisting of one header and one stretcher, along with a triangular black brick coping. The wall is ramped up at the lychgate and further ramped on the north side, where there is a small opening leading into a later extension of the cemetery.
