Description
Nos. 49 and 51 on The Street is a house that has been extended and divided. It dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made to the front in the late 19th century and restoration in the 20th century. The building is timber framed, with the main posts exposed, while the rest is covered in colourwashed render. It has a plain tiled roof with ridge cresting.
The house is two storeys high and consists of three framed bays, featuring a triple ridge stack to the right of the centre. The front is regular, with first floor bracing visible on the outer bays. The windows are diamond-pane, leaded casements, with three on the first floor located under gabled eaves dormers that have wavy edged pierced bargeboards. There are four windows on the ground floor.
Access to No. 49 is through a door located on the left-hand return front, which is sheltered by an open gabled porch. The door to the right of centre leads to Love Key Cottage, and there is another door on the right-hand return front leading to a rear wing that is at right angles to the front.
