Description

Rowbarns Grange is a house that has been divided into separate units. It has a core that dates back to the 16th century and was remodeled in the 18th century, with further alterations made in 1875 by the Lovelace Estate and extensions added in the 1920s. The exterior is constructed of flint rubble with brick quoins and dressings, while the extensions feature cut flint-chip pebbledash. The building has a large, hipped roof covered with plain tiles and stands two storeys tall with attics, which are adorned with three narrow gabled casement dormers.

The roof features an end ridge stack to the left, a ridge stack to the left of centre, and another end ridge stack to the right. There are brick piers supporting the end bay on the left. On the left side, there is one casement window on each floor, with the ground floor window having a cambered head. A two-storey square bay on the left has continuous casement windows across both floors. To the right, there is a similar flat-roofed square bay with continuous fenestration on the first floor and a four-light window on the ground floor. The centre left has two first-floor casement windows, and to the right of centre, there is an angle bay oriel window that breaks through the eaves. A cambered head "cross" casement window is located on the ground floor to the left of centre.

To the right of centre, there is a gabled porch made of flint and brick, featuring a three-step, roll-moulded arched surround that leads to diagonally boarded doors. There is a single-storey wing at the right end. At the rear, brick piers articulate the facade, and there are three gabled dormers above. Inside, some spine beams are visible in the first-floor rooms.
