Description
Octagon Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge located in Wanborough, built from chalk blocks and whitewashed brick, featuring red and dun coloured brick dressings and a hipped slate roof. The building has a square plan topped with an octagonal roof and is a single storey with a central stack. The roof extends outward on rustic tree trunk supports, creating an encircling veranda. Notable architectural details include a plinth, quoins at the corners, and diamond-shaped panels of flint inlay on the street-facing side. There are two casement windows on each face, each set under brick ogee heads. The central entrance features a six-panel door beneath an ogee arch on the street side. There is a 20th-century flat roof extension at the rear and side, made of whitewashed brick.
