Description
The Lodge at Manor Farm is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, which was remodeled in the 19th century and restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with thin scantling and brick infilling, including some 20th-century brick on the left-hand return front. The cottage has a plain tiled roof with a ridge crest and 19th-century scalloped bargeboards on the gable ends. It is positioned at right angles to the street and consists of one storey with attics, featuring two half-dormers on each side and two framed bays. There are stacks at both ends, with the one facing the street having crowsteps and a corbelled top. The cottage has 19th-century casement windows with lattice pattern glazing bars, with two windows on each floor of each side and an additional window between the floors on the left. The entrance is located in a gabled brick porch to the right of the stack, which has rusticated piers and a shield crest in the tympanum.
