Description
Fosters Row is an estate cottage row dated 1833. It features whitewashed render at the base, with fishscale tile hanging above and a plain tiled roof topped with ridge cresting. The building is single storey with an attic, showcasing seven gabled eaves dormers that have pierced bargeboards supported by brackets. The original windows have lattice tracery bars on the casements. The front is regular, with six ground floor windows and four doors. To the right, there is a 20th-century part-glazed door, while the other doors are original and have gabled hoods with pierced bargeboards on decorative braces. There are chimney stacks located at the ridge on the left, left of centre, and right of centre. The building has wings that extend at right angles to the rear. Fosters Row is a good example of largely intact estate workers' cottages.
