Description
This building, originally a house and now serving as a shop and part offices, dates from the mid-19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It features grey brick construction above stone shop fronts, topped with stone-coped parapets that hide a low-pitched slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall, with stacks located at both ends and the rear. The parapet displays a red and blue brick pattern, complemented by a brick dentil course above and a moulded brick cornice below. The front has four bays with 12-pane glazing-bar sash windows, some of which still have surviving crown glass. The second and first floors each have four windows, with rendered cambered heads on the upper windows and gauged-brick heads on the lower ones. The ground floor features plate glass shop fronts on both the left and right, with doors at the ends.
