Description
Monk's House is an early 17th-century house, with 20th-century extensions to the rear. It is timber framed and features an exposed frame on the ends, above a colourwashed flint rubble underbuild with brick and flint chequer work infill. The front is colourwashed roughcast, with a patch of flint and brick chequer work infill visible on the right-hand gable bay to the left end. The roofs are covered in plain tiles. The house has a T-shaped plan with a cross wing to the left. It is two storeys high, with a gabled bay projecting to the left. A ridge stack is located to the left. The windows are leaded casements, with one window on each floor and in the attic. To the right there are two three-light casements on each floor. A panelled door is set within a moulded surround, and there is a timber-framed, gabled porch to the centre.
The right-hand return front has a gabled parallel range projecting to the centre, with a square, single-story glazed bay on the ground floor. Further to the right, a range is set back, featuring an arched window with Y tracery.
