Description

This is a pair of cottages, built in the mid-18th century. They are constructed of random flint rubble with brick dressings, and have hipped roofs covered in plain tiles. The cottages are two storeys high, with wide brick quoins marking the corners. A corbelled ridge stack sits centrally, and there is an end stack to the right. The windows are leaded casements, with four windows on each floor. The first floor has casement windows, and those on the ground floor are plain casements, with cambered heads on those to the left and right of the centre. A door is located to the left (No. 1, Yew Tree Cottage), and another is positioned to the right of the centre (No. 2, Sawpit Cottage).
