Description

The Old Mill House is a mid-18th century house with 20th-century extensions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick on a partly rendered plinth, with a hipped plain tiled roof. The house has a T-shaped plan. The principal facade has two storeys, marked by a plat band above the ground floor and a moulded brick eaves stringcourse. It features a regular three-bay arrangement with 12-pane sash windows, each with a gauged brick head. The central first-floor window is arched, set within a wooden keystone frame. A central six-panel door, with the top four panels fielded, is sheltered by a flat, bracketed hood. A single bay is set back to the right, with a single-storey extension attached to the right end.

The left-hand return front has a six-panel door, complemented by a traceried transom light within a 20th-century Ionic porch; the porch features fluted columns on pedestals.
