Description
Woodhouse Place is a house located on Horsham Road in Holmbury St Mary. The building dates from the 17th century on the right side and the early 18th century on the left side, with restoration carried out in the 20th century. It features red and brown brick construction with a plain tiled roof on the left and a lower Horsham slab roof on the right. The house is two storeys high, set on a plinth, with a plat band above the ground floor. There is an end stack on the left and a large triple stack at the ridge where the two ranges meet.
The first floor on the left has five casement windows with cambered heads, while there are four below, all under gauged brick heads. In the center, there is a fine fielded panel door, which is sheltered by an open portico with a modillion pediment supported by Doric columns. Above the door is a traceried fanlight. To the right, there is a five-light casement window on each floor, with the ground floor window also under a cambered head.
