Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame, with the center and right sections underbuilt in whitewashed brick, and brick infill above the exposed frame, all beneath a plain tiled roof. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of four framed bays, with a rebuilt ridge stack positioned to the right of the center. There are six casement windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor. The main entrance, located to the right of center, has a studded door beneath an open gabled hood supported by wooden brackets, while there is also a half-glazed door to the left. At the rear, there is an outshot.

Inside, the cottage showcases substantial exposed framing and features a large brick fireplace that includes the remains of a bread oven.
