Description
The Lodge is a possible hall house dating from the early 16th century, which was remodeled in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill on the left side, whitewashed brick cladding at the end and in the gable, and rough-cast cladding on the right side. The roof is plain tiled and the building has two storeys. It has three framed bays, with one bay serving as a hall, and a large offset brick and stone stack with an oven on the left side. The gable end faces the street and includes a three-light leaded window on the first floor. Below this is a plank door set under an arched overdoor, which has applied 19th-century quatrefoil decoration. The right-hand return front is buttressed to the plinth and features a central leaded three-light casement window on the first floor, with quatrefoil decoration on the ground floor. There are additional decorative elements on each floor of the outer bays, and a further door is located at the rear.
